The Madrid Conundrum

Yesterday, Real Madrid sweated through a 3-0 win against Almeria. It wasn't pretty. The football was not the kind of free flowing menace we have come to expect from Los Blancos. But in the end it was enough to see off the relagation strugglers.

It was James Rodriguez who opened the scoring for Real Madrid right at the stroke of half-time with a brilliant strike from outside the box. It was a sumptuous strike.

Then an own goal followed. The third goal was from one of the most unlikeliest sources. Alvaro Arbeloa. It was the result of good work from Chicharito. That Cristiano Ronaldo could not get into the score sheet means he has not scored in the last four games. After that five goal splurge he has been relatively quiet. And
it is time to change that, soon with Juventus looming in the horizon.
